9:30 AM Worship at Christ Church:
Hymn of Preparation I Asked the Lord
GOD CALLS HIS PEOPLE TO WORSHIP
It is God Himself who calls His people to worship.
We come praising him, confessing our sins and the one true faith.
*Call to Worship Psalm 145:1, 6-10
Leader: I will extol you, my God and King, and bless your name forever and ever.
Congregation: We shall speak of the might of your awesome deeds, and we will declare your greatness. We shall pour forth the fame of your abundant goodness and shall sing aloud of your righteousness.
Leader: The LORD is gracious and merciful, slow to anger and abounding in steadfast love.
All: The LORD is good to all, and his mercy is over all that he has made. All your works shall give thanks to you, O LORD, and all your saints shall bless you!

No. 181 We Come, O Christ, To You
Prayer of Confession and Assurance of Pardon
Leader: Hear the words of the gospel: When he came down from the mountain, great crowds followed him. And behold, a leper came to him and knelt before him, saying, "Lord, if you will, you can make me clean." And Jesus stretched out his hand and touched him, saying, "I will; be clean." And immediately his leprosy was cleansed. (Matthew 8:1-3). Let us also seek him for his mercy that he may make us clean.
All: Our Lord Jesus Christ, you are righteous and holy. You are exalted at the right hand of the Father in the glory of your majesty. Yet you sympathize with our weakness. Like us you were tempted, but you did not sin. You are our help. You were put forward as an offering for sin in our place, and for our justification you were raised up from the dead. By your stripes we are healed. You were chastised that we might have peace. You became sin for us, though you knew no sin, that we might become the righteousness of God. O God, have mercy on us for the sake of your Son and our Savior, Jesus Christ. We have sinned thinking, speaking and acting wrongly.
Leader: Let us continue to confess our sins in silent prayer.
Leader: Amen. If you are trusting in Christ alone for the forgiveness of sins, hear his words of pardoning grace: But now the righteousness of God has been manifested apart from the law, although the Law and the Prophets bear witness to it- the righteousness of God through faith in Jesus Christ for all who believe. For there is no distinction: for all have sinned and fall short of the glory of God, and are justified by his grace as a gift, through the redemption that is in Christ Jesus, - Romans 3:21-24

In Christ Alone
GOD SPEAKS TO HIS PEOPLE THROUGH HIS WORD
The Scriptures and the Sacraments are the means God uses to communicate to us the benefits of redemption. He makes them effectual to his own for their salvation. We participate by faith.
